| About Natomas |
|
People in our core team has been in Natomas for as many as 20 years. Some are new to the area. This is a unique community. The greater Natomas area has tremendous diversity. There are areas of low income, and areas of great wealth. There are people with both liberal and conservative political bias, and every stripe in-between. One of the local elementary schools is attended by 800+ kids that represent 26 different languages.
Amongst all this diversity, one fact has been clear from the moment God called our core team to start a Vineyard out here. Natomas, like most parts of the greater Sacramento area has hurting, lonely, and lost people. Natomas also has passionate people who want to see their communities thrive. We have a heart for families of all stripes. We know many people in Natomas who are warm to the idea of an active faith and want to be connected to a church that encourages faith activity in their relationships, work places, community organizations, and neighborhoods. This community is literally built on land that was used for rice and other agriculture. This fact adds value to the word picture Jesus spoke of in John 4 - that the fields are ripe for harvest. We are excited to bring a Vineyard to this suburb of Sacramento. |
